Decedent Transport Specialist / Mortuary Transfer Team Member

* **Compensation:** **$60.00 per transport call** + a guaranteed **$10.00 daily on-call stipend** (paid regardless of whether you are dispatched).
* **Scheduling & Response:** Monthly advance scheduling provided. **Must be en route within 30 minutes of receiving a dispatch call.**

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a compassionate, professional, and reliable **Decedent Transport Specialist** to join our dedicated care team. In this role, you will serve as a frontline representative, responsible for responding to initial calls to transfer deceased individuals from their place of death (including hospitals, residential homes, care facilities, and medical examiner offices) to the mortuary.

This position requires a profound respect for human dignity, high emotional intelligence, and excellent physical stamina. **No prior mortuary experience is required** - comprehensive on-the-job training is provided. **Key Responsibilities**

* **Prompt & Safe Transport:** Respond immediately to dispatch notifications and **begin transit within 30 minutes of the call**. Transfer decedents safely, respectfully, and legally using company-provided transport vehicles.
* **Professional Care & Handling:** Follow strict protocols for handling, lifting, and transferring decedents to maintain the absolute highest standards of dignity and care.
* **Compassionate Interaction:** Interact with grieving families, medical professionals, and law enforcement with the utmost empathy, courtesy, and situational awareness.
* **Compliance & Documentation:** Accurately complete all required chain-of-custody paperwork, identification tags, and transport logs in strict accordance with Utah state regulations.
* **Vehicle & Equipment Readiness:** Maintain the cleanliness, sanitization, and supply stock of transport vehicles, ensuring all protective and transfer equipment is ready for service.

**Qualifications & Requirements**

* **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent.
* **Response & Readiness:** Must maintain a reliable means of communication and be capable of rapid deployment (within 30 minutes) when on call.
* **Professional Appearance:** **Strict adherence to professional dress and grooming standards is mandatory.** You must be professionally dressed and ready for public interaction immediately upon dispatch.
* **Physical Requirements:** Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, and maneuver up to 50 lbs independently, and routinely handle heavier weight (150+ lbs) alongside a transport partner or using mechanical assistance.
* **Licensure:** Must possess a valid Utah Driver’s License with a clean, insurable driving record.
* **Availability:** Flexibility to adhere to an on-call schedule, including overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
* **Screening:** Must be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
