Full-time Transportation Indeed

Job Description

**About Earth**

At Earth, we believe how we say farewell matters. Our mission is to transform the end\-of\-life experience by offering families a beautiful, sustainable alternative to cremation and burial.

Instead of traditional methods that harm the environment, our gentle, natural process transforms a body into nutrient\-rich soil in approximately 30 days, returning life to the earth and leaving a meaningful legacy. Families receive a portion of this soil to scatter or plant, while the remainder is thoughtfully donated to conservation projects that restore and heal our planet.

Earth is the national leader in soil transformation, backed by major investors, and growing fast. Our experience is environmentally friendly, digital\-first, and underpinned by best\-in\-class family care. Visit earthfuneral.com to learn more.

**About the Role**

We’re looking for a **Driver \& NOR Assistant** to join our team in Elkridge, Maryland. We recently expanded to the East Coast with the opening of our Elkridge facility and are continuing to scale our operations across the region.

In this role, you’ll be primarily responsible for transportation needs associated with our East Coast operations, with a particular focus on the respectful and dignified transport of decedents. This will include long\-distance driving in a company\-provided van, sometimes overnight, to complete non\-emergency pickups at partner storage facilities and funeral homes.

When you’re not on the road, you’ll support our Natural Organic Reduction (NOR) Operators in facility day\-to\-day operations.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys driving but is also excited to learn about Natural Organic Reduction (NOR) and become an integral part of a growing facility team.

**Responsibilities**

* Ensure decedents are transported and handled safely, respectfully, and with dignity at all times.
* Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and readiness of company vehicles and promptly report any maintenance or safety concerns.
* Maintain accurate transportation records and other required documentation.
* When not driving, assist NOR Operators with day\-to\-day facility operations, including intakes, soil testing and processing, loading and starting new cases, cleaning, and general facility support.
* Help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly facility.
* Support continuous improvement efforts across transportation and facility operations.

**Requirements**

* Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
* Comfort driving a company van for extended periods of time.
* Willingness and ability to complete long\-distance and overnight trips.
* Flexibility to occasionally work weekends based on operational needs.
* Comfort working respectfully and professionally around decedents.
* Strong reliability, judgment, attention to detail, and time\-management skills.
* Ability to work independently while also contributing as part of a hands\-on operations team.
* Interest in learning about Natural Organic Reduction and Earth’s process.

**Nice to Have**

* Previous professional driving, transportation, logistics, or route\-planning experience.
* Experience working in a funeral home, crematory, mortuary, or other death\-care environment.
* Current forklift certification is a plus but is not required. Earth will provide funding and support to obtain certification if needed.

**Working Conditions \& Physical Requirements**

* Ability to lift up to 100 lbs.
* Ability to drive for extended periods of time, including long\-distance trips.
* Ability to perform physical tasks associated with facility operations, including standing, bending, lifting, and moving materials.
