Your expertise will help create meaningful memorial experiences while managing essential operational tasks with professionalism and care. **Responsibilities** * Coordinate aspects of funeral services, including planning, logistics, embalming and execution to ensure seamless ceremonies. * Provide compassionate bereavement support to grieving families, offering guidance and emotional comfort throughout their journey. * Manage the preparation of deceased individuals, including sanitation, cosmetology, dissection, and physiology\-related procedures to ensure respectful presentation. * Oversee heavy lifting and proper handling of remains in accordance with safety protocols and sanitation standards. * Conduct detailed consultations with families to understand their wishes, explain service options, and assist with sales of memorial products and services. * Organize and oversee event planning for funerals, memorials, and related gatherings to create respectful and personalized experiences. * Maintain meticulous records of all arrangements, legal documentation, and service details while ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. * With a cemetery on site, you will also need to familiarise yourself with showing families where plots are specifically located and general knowledge of the cemetery. **Requirements** * Proven experience in funeral directing, embalming or related fields such as mortuary science or anatomy studies. * Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, sanitation practices, and cosmetology related to mortuary care. * Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate empathetically during sensitive situations. * Ability to perform embalming procedures accurately when required for preparation purposes. * Physical stamina for heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking during service preparations. * Experience in event planning to coordinate memorial services effectively. * Knowledge of sales techniques to assist families in selecting appropriate memorial products and services. * Certification or licensing as required by local regulations for funeral directors or morticians is required.
