Funeral Director - Manager of Record

A Better Cremation is seeking a caring, compassionate, and active professional to join and grow our new Lynchburg, Va. office. We are a family owned and managed cremation service provider, founded to provide families seeking low cost cremation services with a higher level of service and compassion than other low cost providers. Join our growing team and enjoy a rewarding career serving families, while having a 8:30am\-4:30pm Monday through Friday work schedule with a greater work\-life balance than most Funeral Service roles can provide! Responsibilities will include: marketing and community outreach, setting features (but not embalming) waiting on families, related paperwork and other clerical tasks, composing and submitting obituaries, coordinating with removal and crematory staff, state reporting, etc. Depositing cash payments and preperation of reports, and participation in regular weekley Zoom meetings. Attendance to occasional in person meetings in Charlottesville, VA as well as out of area professional development trainings and retreats are also required. Qualified applicants must also be able to manage working with multiple families at a given time, and work predominantly independently or as part of a team as needed. There is also limited on\-call to the phone, but no in\-person response required after hours. A valid Virginia Funeral Service Provider License (other state's licenses considered if transferable to Va.), a valid Driver’s License, and English language skills are required. Licensed individuals of all experience levels are encouraged to apply. Base Salary, will be considered based on experience and qualifications, In addition to Base pay you will be eligible for direct profit sharing for your branch through our Opportunity Plan.
