**Job Overview**
Join our compassionate team as a Funeral Home Apprentice, where you will embark on a meaningful journey to support families during their most difficult moments. You will work closely with experienced professionals to develop essential skills in anatomy, physiology, and customer service, all while contributing to respectful and dignified funeral arrangements. **Responsibilities**
* Assist with the preparation and handling of deceased bodies, including dissection and sanitation procedures, ensuring respectful treatment at all times
* Support funeral planning and event coordination, helping organize memorial services that honor loved ones’ lives
* Provide bereavement support to grieving families through compassionate communication and empathetic listening
* Help maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of funeral home facilities, ensuring compliance with health standards
* Participate in cosmetology tasks such as embalming, restorative art, and dressing of the deceased to prepare for viewings
* Support heavy lifting and transportation of bodies or equipment as needed, following safety protocols
* Contribute to sales efforts by explaining services and options to families seeking guidance during difficult times
**Experience**
* Previous experience or education related to anatomy or physiology is highly desirable
* Strong customer service skills with an ability to communicate compassionately and effectively
* Knowledge of bereavement support practices and sensitivity toward grieving individuals
* Experience in event planning or coordinating logistics is a plus
* Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards
* Familiarity with sanitation procedures and maintaining a clean work environment
* Willingness to learn funeral directing responsibilities under supervision and develop expertise in the field
Pay: From $30,000\.00 per year
