Job Description
**Job Overview**
We are seeking a compassionate and detail\-oriented Licensed Funeral Director to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will oversee funeral arrangements, provide bereavement support to families, and ensure all services are conducted with professionalism and respect. This role requires a strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and sanitation standards, along with excellent customer service skills. As a Licensed Funeral Director, you will play a vital role in guiding families through difficult times while managing logistical and ceremonial aspects of funeral services.
**Duties**
* Coordinate and oversee funeral arrangements from initial consultation to service completion
* Provide compassionate bereavement support and guidance to grieving families
* Prepare human remains for viewing, including cosmetology, dressing, and sanitation procedures
* Manage planning for funeral services, memorials, and related ceremonies. Contact and coordinate with clergy, cemeteries and other service providers
* Knowledge and skilled in the art of embalming
* Handle heavy lifting of caskets and equipment safely and efficiently
* Maintain meticulous records of all arrangements and legal documentation
* Ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards throughout all processes
* Assist with sales activities related to funeral packages and merchandise
* Support families in selecting appropriate memorial options and services
**Requirements**
* Valid licensure as a Funeral Director in accordance with state regulations
* Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to mortuary science
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide empathetic support during difficult times
* Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks
* Knowledge of sanitation standards, dissection procedures, and cosmetology techniques for human remains preparation
* Experience in sales or client consultation is preferred
* Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with professionalism and compassion
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
* Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
