**Job Overview**
Family Owned Funeral Group is seeking a compassionate, detail‑oriented Licensed Funeral Director to join our dedicated team. In this meaningful role, you will guide families through the funeral process with professionalism, empathy, and clarity. You will coordinate all aspects of arrangements, ensure compliance with legal and health regulations, and uphold the highest standards of care. This position offers the opportunity to make a profound difference in people’s lives while demonstrating your expertise in funeral directing, event coordination, and family support.
**Responsibilities**
* Coordinate all aspects of funeral and memorial services, including planning, scheduling, and execution in collaboration with families, clergy, and vendors
* Provide compassionate support to grieving families, offering guidance with sensitivity and understanding
* Prepare and care for decedents using proper sanitation, restorative art, and presentation techniques to ensure dignified viewing
* Manage transportation logistics, including safe and respectful transfer of decedents and occasional heavy lifting
* Oversee preparation of caskets, urns, and memorial displays while maintaining strict sanitation and safety standards
* Assist families with required legal documentation, including death certificates and permits, ensuring full compliance with state and local regulations
* Present and discuss funeral merchandise and service options with professionalism and excellent customer service
* Plan and coordinate visitations, services, and memorial events to create meaningful, personalized experiences for families
**Requirements**
* Valid state licensure as a Funeral Director with active status
* Preferred embalmer, but not required
* Strong knowledge of mortuary science, including anatomy, physiology, and restorative techniques
* Experience in funeral directing, event planning, and providing bereavement support
* Exceptional communication skills with the ability to serve families with empathy and clarity
* Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, transferring, and preparation duties
* Knowledge of sanitation procedures and restorative or cosmetology techniques
* Familiarity with legal processes related to vital records, permits, and regulatory compliance
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
**Compensation**
Pay will be determined upon interviewing and based on experience.
