Job Description
**Job Summary**
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Funeral Director to lead and coordinate all aspects of funeral services with professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail. In this vital role, you will guide families through difficult times, ensuring every service is handled with dignity and respect. Your expertise in funeral directing, combined with your strong customer service skills, will help provide comfort and support to grieving families while managing the logistical and operational elements of funeral arrangements. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others during their most challenging moments.
**Responsibilities**
* Coordinate and oversee funeral arrangements from initial consultation through service completion, ensuring all details align with family wishes and legal requirements
* Provide bereavement support by offering compassionate guidance and emotional reassurance to grieving families throughout the process
* Prepare and handle decedents with professionalism.
* Manage event planning for funeral services, including scheduling, venue setup, transportation logistics, and coordination with clergy or officiants
* Conduct heavy lifting up to 300 lbs with provided equipment only, when necessary to move caskets, decedents or equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols
* Maintain detailed records of all services performed, including documentation of dissection or anatomy procedures when applicable
* Ensure compliance with health regulations and sanitation standards at all times to uphold the integrity of the facility and services provided
**Experience**
* Valid state licensure as a Funeral Director
* Proven experience in funeral directing, event planning, or related roles within the funeral industry
* Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with families from diverse backgrounds
* Familiarity with bereavement support techniques and providing emotional guidance during difficult times
* Experience in sales or consultative roles to assist families in selecting appropriate services and products
* Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards

Job Types: Part\-time, Contract
Pay: From $18\.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week
