**Maintenance Shop Coordinator**

**Glenwood Cemetery** is seeking an experienced and dependable **Maintenance Shop Coordinator** to oversee the safety, equipment, and daily operations of our maintenance shop.

The ideal candidate is a hands\-on leader with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work, support technicians, manage parts and supplies, and communicate effectively with the Superintendent.

**Key Responsibilities**

* Oversee daily shop operations, including preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs based on priority and technician skill.
* Manage preventive maintenance schedules and ensure inspections, lubrication, servicing, and routine maintenance are completed on time.
* Assist technicians in troubleshooting and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diagnostic issues.
* Enforce shop safety policies, conduct safety briefings, ensure proper PPE use, and promptly address workplace hazards.
* Monitor parts and supply inventory, approve parts requests, coordinate with vendors, and help control maintenance costs and unnecessary waste.
* Review and maintain accurate work orders, labor hours, inspection reports, maintenance histories, and parts\-usage records.
* Communicate regularly with the Superintendent regarding equipment condition, repair costs, anticipated completion dates, and operational limitations.
* Ensure tools, lifts, diagnostic equipment, and other shop equipment are properly inspected, maintained, and calibrated as needed.
* Support compliance with applicable environmental, transportation, occupational safety, and equipment\-inspection requirements.
* Monitor maintenance performance, including repair backlog, turnaround time, repeat repairs, equipment availability, overtime, and maintenance expenses.
* Assist with interviewing and evaluating maintenance personnel, reviewing and approving time records, and recommending appropriate corrective or disciplinary action when necessary.
* Provide leadership, direction, and support to maintenance staff while promoting accountability, teamwork, quality workmanship, and a safe work environment.

**Ideal Candidate**

The successful candidate will have strong hands\-on mechanical knowledge, excellent problem\-solving abilities, and previous experience supervising or leading a maintenance team. Experience working with heavy equipment, commercial vehicles, grounds\-maintenance equipment, or similar machinery is highly desirable.

The ability to work independently, prioritize multiple maintenance needs, communicate effectively, maintain accurate records, and lead by example is essential.

**This is an important leadership position responsible for keeping Glenwood Cemetery's equipment, maintenance operations, and team functioning safely and efficiently each day.**

Pay: $55,000\.00 \- $60,000\.00 per year
