Mortuary Transport Driver - Huntsville AL

Job Type: Full\-time (Weekends required)

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Responsible for the care, removal and transport of human remains in accordance with all state, local and company policies and procedures. This position will require 5 days of 24 hours on\-call, with a requirement to be enroute within 20 minutes of receiving a call. The removal specialists will have the freedom to stay home or go places within the coverage area so long as he/she maintains a 20 minute response time. A company vehicle with gas card is provided.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

* Performs removals of deceased from hospital, nursing home or residence to transport to mortuary, funeral home, or medical examiner’s office.
* May perform removals from prep rooms or embalming facilities as well.
* Maintains and ensures removal vehicle is clean inside and out and is properly maintained.
* Maintains adequate supply of Personal Protective Equipment in removal vehicles

Requirements \& Qualifications

Education:

* High School or GED equivalent
* Must be able to lift 100 lbs
* Must live within 30 minutes of coverage area

Certification/License:

* Valid Driver’s License with a Clean Driving Record

Knowledge, Skills \& Abilities:

* Professional appearance required
* Ability to follow instructions given over the phone or in person
* Ability to work and communicate effectively with others
* Ability to work with kindness and compassion for the deceased and their families
* Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
* Ability to maintain composure in challenging situations
* Must be able to work on a rotating on call schedule'
