Transport Driver
Job Description
**Job Summary**
We are a growing professional transport company seeking **full\-time and part\-time 1099 Independent Contractors** to provide mortuary transportation throughout Springfield and surrounding areas.
This is an **on\-call position** that requires individuals who are dependable, professional, and comfortable working in a sensitive and highly respectful environment. The role involves interacting with funeral homes, medical facilities, hospitals, care facilities, families, and other members of the professional community.
**What We're Looking For**
* Professional, compassionate, and respectful demeanor
* Ability to handle human remains with **dignity, discretion, and care**
* Respectful and appropriate interactions with families, funeral professionals, and other clients
* Dependable and responsive when called upon
* **Clean driving record** – applicants must provide a current Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with their resume
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
* Ability to safely lift and maneuver **at least 50 lbs.**
* Comfortable performing physical work, including lifting, loading, unloading, and transferring
* Ability to work independently and follow established procedures
* Professional appearance and communication skills
* Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
* Previous experience in funeral services, transportation, healthcare, EMS, or a related field is helpful but **not required**
Schedule \& Availability
This is an **on\-call position** with flexible scheduling.
* Full\-time and part\-time opportunities available
* **12\-hour availability blocks are required**when scheduled/on call
* Flexible hours
* Work may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and other non\-traditional hours
* Applicants must be able to reliably respond to calls within the required service area
